Professional Tree Service in Orlando
Central Florida tree care is shaped by one thing above all: hurricane season. The goal in Orlando is not just a tidy canopy but a wind-resilient one – and the wrong cuts make a tree more dangerous, not less. “Hurricane cutting” (stripping a canopy or over-lifting a palm) is the most common and most damaging mistake we see. We prune to Florida storm-resilience standards: structural pruning that keeps trees strong, not gutted.
We provide full tree service across Orlando, Orange, Seminole, Osceola, and Lake counties – structural and maintenance pruning, canopy thinning and deadwood removal, proper palm maintenance, tree and stump removal, and storm response. Every job begins with an on-site assessment of species, health, and structure.
Orlando Tree Species and How We Care for Them
The Orlando canopy runs to live oak and laurel oak, southern magnolia, bald cypress, crepe myrtle, red maple, slash pine, and a heavy population of palms – sabal (cabbage) palm, queen palm, and others. Live oaks are the great shade trees of Central Florida and need structural pruning when young so they grow strong limb attachments that survive storms. Laurel oaks are faster-growing and more failure-prone, so they need closer monitoring. Crepe myrtles are pruned to structure, never topped.
Palms are where most damage gets done. A healthy palm needs only its dead, brown fronds removed – over-pruning into a “hurricane cut” that leaves a few upright fronds starves the palm and actually weakens it against wind. We remove only dead and dying fronds and old fruit stalks, and we never over-lift a healthy palm.
When to Prune Trees in Orlando
Central Florida’s mild climate allows pruning much of the year, but the best window for most shade trees is late winter into early spring, before the summer growth flush. The more important rule in Orlando is storm timing: structural, wind-resilience pruning – thinning dense canopies, removing deadwood, and reducing weak or over-extended limbs – is best done before hurricane season, not after a storm is named. We do not strip or over-thin; properly thinned canopies let wind pass through and are far less likely to fail.
Palms are maintained as needed year-round, but we limit pruning to dead fronds and seed stalks rather than seasonal “skinning.” Oaks are pruned for structure in the cooler months, and any hazard or storm-damaged wood is cleared immediately whenever it occurs.
Our Orlando Tree Services
Structural and hurricane-resilience pruning, canopy thinning, crown raising, and deadwood removal. Proper palm maintenance – dead-frond removal and seed-stalk cleanup, never over-pruning. Full tree removal, including hazardous and storm-damaged trees and limited-access work. Stump grinding. Cabling and bracing for weak unions. We coordinate tree work with your other services – schedule around landscape design, irrigation, and yard cleanup, and tie in with hardscape projects.
Pricing
Tree work is quoted per job after an on-site assessment, because size, access, hazard, and proximity to structures drive cost. As a guide, routine pruning in Orlando runs about $200 to $700 per tree for small-to-mid canopies, with large live oaks higher, and palm trimming from about $75 to $300 per palm depending on height. Removal typically ranges from $400 to $2,200 depending on size, access, and hazard, and stump grinding runs about $90 to $350 per stump. You get a firm written quote before any work begins, from licensed, insured crews.
